Depixus MAGNA One™ instrument installed at the University of Portsmouth, UK

A new Depixus MAGNA One™ instrument has been installed for the nucleic acid biochemists at the University of Portsmouth Institute of Life Sciences & Healthcare.

Based on Magnetic Force Spectroscopy (MFS), Depixus MAGNA one delivers direct, dynamic data on thousands of individual biomolecular interactions. The researchers will be using the power of our platform to explore the biophysical properties of DNA and RNA. By precisely measuring how thousands of individual molecules fold and unfold under forces in the picoNewton range, they aim to uncover new insights into these vital biomolecules.

Experiments are now under way following the initial training and set-up with our Field Application Scientist Elie Hammam, PhD. We can’t wait to see the discoveries the Portsmouth team will make and the insights they’ll gain from their data!
